So recently I came across a “don’t” list of common mistakes that many photographers do in post production. As I was reading through the article, I found myself finding alot of the techniques that I use in my own workflow.

As a semi-professional, I find myself using a list of Adobe Lightroom Develop Settings that I’ve created over the last little while.  And reading through this top 10 “don’ts” list has me concerned. Do I over process? In my quest to follow trends and create my own variation have I become a photography cliche?

In my profession I am a graphic artist. On a daily basis I see advertisements and posters that are terribly designed. I can spot design problems from a mile away.  Now because I am new to photography and I know what my personal taste is, I find myself less aware of the right and wrong things to do with photos.

In most cases, the feedback that I receive is good. But it’s the lack of criticism as a check and balance to post production that is worrisome. So I present the ultimate question. Is the post production you do good or bad for photos? Do you feel the same way about your own photos?
